Andere Klänge explores a variety of inside-the-piano playing techniques.  Even though I have used a few of these techniques as special effects in ensemble pieces, this my first piano piece to capitalize on them.  But rather than utilizing them in the typical manner as just surface timbral/textural effects, I have attempted to incorporate them in a more motivic and orchestrational manner, integrated as structural components of the piece among conventional passages on the keyboard.
