This is a large-scale cantata for baritone solo with chorus accompaniment (a cappella). The texts are drawn from various cultures and eras, and are all ruminations about facing final judgment upon death. It is thus rather dramatic, and is also fairly difficult. The two groups of excerpts are shorter and simpler to present, yet they make a similar dramatic impact. |
